Helpmekaar App (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We built this app for families — and we treat your data the way we’d want ours treated.
Information we collect
To run your account we collect the email address you sign up with and a securely-hashed password. When you use live tracking, the app processes the location of the buses you follow so it can show them on your map. We may also collect basic device information (such as app version and device type) to keep the service reliable.
How we use your information
We use your information for one purpose: to make the app work for you — signing you in, showing the buses you have favourited, and delivering the live locations and updates you rely on. We do not use your data for advertising.
Sharing your information
We never sell your personal information. We only share data with the trusted service providers that help us operate the app (for example, secure hosting and mapping), and only to the extent needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention & deletion
You are always in control. You can permanently delete your profile at any time from within the app — open your Profile, tap Delete Profile, and confirm. Once deleted, your account information is removed from our active systems.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure password storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to safeguard your family’s data.
Children’s privacy
The Helpmekaar App is designed to be managed by parents and guardians. Accounts are intended for adults arranging safe travel for their children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from young children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
